4x4 problem

4x4 problem
My 93 ranger has the push button 4x4 switch in the dash and the button continues to go bad and i caint get the truck into 4x4. is anyone else having or had this problem and what can i do?? ive replaced the button 3 times and all 3 have gone bad. how hard would it be to switch over to the floor 4x4 shifter aand what all would need to be done to convert?? any info would be great

wouldn't be hard to switch to a manual transfer case. Just take one t-case out and put another in. You will need to either cut a hole in the floor for the shifter, or get the floor plate for a manual t-case Ranger. You will also have to make sure you have the holes in the tail housing on your transmission for the shifter linkage. If you don't, then you will need a new tail housing with the holes.

find an older explorer/bronco2 with a manual transfer case and take the transfer case, shifter linkage and interior parts.

he could also find one that is out of a '91-'94 Explorer that would direct swap......
