2011 ranger xl 2.3l auto clunk sound

So recently i noticed in my ranger that at idle it seems to clunk every 15-30 seconds. I have only really noticed it in park and the heat was on but at the minimum. Could it be something with my a/c?or maybe my compressor? The truck was warmed up when i noticed it and it seems to come from the right side of the truck.

Many of the heater settings have the AC running simultaneously to move dry air into passenger compartment to de-fog the windows. If you are on one of those setttings the AC comporesser will cycle on/off at about the rate you stated.

On my 2011 4L V6 the 2nd pos CW from the 12 oclock pos runs htr w/o AC compr. Check your owners manual and I believe it will tell you which settings, for your vehicle have the AC comp running.
