35's with 4.0L and 4.10 gears?

I know some people on here are runnign this setup, but in all honesty how bad is it for your truck? obviously ti will be much slower, but what are the other side effects of this combo? i dont want any premature wear on the driveline. Im still rockign the 33's with 4.10's.

Sure. I've had 35s forever. Wheel bearing just had to be replaced but ehh..it could be that time too. 35s look awesome.

And it isn't "much slower", It's obviously not as fast as stock but my truck gets up and goes nicely!

I think it'll be fine. If you don't have one already, get a tuner. I did and it helped a decent amount.

I wasn't a huge fan of 33s and 4.10s, I wouldn't want to run 35s with them if you actually use the truck off road. You will either be in 4 low a LOT to keep it moving or overheat the tranny pretty easily.

you might want to consider regearing to 4.56s but that might hurt on road drivability

Are you joking? It would improve on road driving, but 4.88s would be much more ideal.

4.56s are just ok id go with 4.88s too

i ran that for a few thousand miles and i didnt care for it much. it just worked things way too hard. but if your just driving on the road it will be fine.

i ran 35's with 4.10s and i blew my trans. lol

it doesnt feel too bad till you regear and feel how fast your truck should be.

i went 4.88's. one of my best mods to date.

IMO I would buy here, good site

Ford 8.8" Gears - Free Shipping at 4WS.COM

BTW...I hate 4.10's and 33's trucks a dog. I can't even imagine that with 35"s

Talk to Wayne at diffsonly.com, he will beat just about everyone's prices, I haven't found anyone that could match what he did on differential parts.

Will the 4.88 gears work in the rearend of a 2000 xlt 4.0 4x4? If not, what will fit? I have 4.10s now, and I'm deciding between double lift and 35's or the superlift and 33's.

Why 4.88's over 4.56's?

About every person on this site that has tried both w/ 35s says 4.88s and 35s is the best combination. I haven't done the math but if I was on 30s with 4.10s I think 35s with 4.56s may disappoint me in what im hoping for.

So if I decide to go with 33's should the stock 4.10's be enough for a DD or would I want to have 4.56's?

Yeah, I'd stay with the 4.10's. Doesn't make sense to change.

I've had 33s with my 4.10s and it seemed to work fine..35s is just too much IMO.
