4 or 5 speed?
I have a 99 ford ranger with the ohv 4.0 and want to find out what transmission is in the truck how do I know what transmission is in the truck?

If its auto it's 4-speed 4R44E or 5-speed 5R55E
If its manual its the 5-speed Mazda M5OD-R1

Ok but where do i find the numbers at ? is there a code some where in the vin ?

Yeah I found the code I just had to look when my a$$ had some sleep. I'm just getting into the whole truck thing and I'm really starting to like it.
