4.10s...

Well my rear end went the other day, it had been whining but i had to drive it 20 miles home and i think i blew the chunk apart but i found a rear end for 100 bucks. Its a 87 axle code (7.5 open with 4.10s) they had none with ls but what would 4.10s do with stock size tires on my 4 banger? I drive 60% highway and 40% town but i was going to go with 31s in the future...

4.10's will help out in the acceleration category but your gas mileage will suffer a little. that is unless your truck came w/ 4.10's then, you wouldnt notice a difference.

do you have four wheel drive? if you do and you put the 4.10s in the rear, your going to want to put 4.10s in the front before you use four wheel drive.

why not pay the extra $100 or so (depending on your junk yard prices) and upgrade your axle to an 8.8? It is stronger, easier to find, and has larger brakes in the rear....

4.10's will be better in the 4 banger you have...
