Dana 60

Hey i just wanted peoples opinion on this axle. I have found a ford dana 60 low pinion and can get it for $100 for the housing and knuckles. I know these are not the best ones because of the splines on the axles. But i found someone that makes a kit to change that. Yall think i should get it and should I look at anything perticular on the housing to make sure it a good one. I am going to go look at it tomorrow.

What is it out of?

Front or rear?
More info please!

If its front, I would stay away. A LP axle is going to give you a wicked angle on your front DS. Also it is not as strong.

If it's got knuckles, it's a front.

Personally, it doesn't sound like a horrible deal. Any sort of front D60 for $100 bones can't be all bad. Most of them are well over $500 I think. Now granted the LP doesn't make it much less desirable for off-roading.

Probably not the best site for this time of information since I don't know if any active users even have a D60 under their Ranger.

yeah If I were to build up a 60 It would be a one time deal and would need to atleast be HP. It will work and be pretty strong, but you would need to set it up with a semi-low suspension lift so that your D-shaft angles are quite mild. how much is this kit? cause if it adds a few more hundred just save up for a nice 60 that you wont need to do much to.

is there really that big of a differance between HP and LP. Also if he has a low pinon Dana44/60 or anything low pinion for that matter to fix the drive shaft problem he could rotate the whole thing
