CV Question

I have a 01 front diff on my 07. Are passenger side CVs from a 01 and a 07 the same? Also does anybody have a picture of the passenger CV seated in the dif? Reason I ask all this, mine is leaking right where the axle tube and the CV meet. But it looks like the CV isnt all the way in. I tore it all apart a week or 2 ago and couldnt get it any further in. Im trying to figure out if the CV is not the same as an 01 or if something is just blocking my 07 CV from seating all the way or if i just need to replace the outer axle seal.

They are the same, it's probably the seal.

Well as long as they are the same. I was looking on rock auto earlier for the seal and then noticed that 01 and 07 cvs had different part numbers. But now ill just replace the seal like I planned. Thanks.

how come you have one from an 01 in your 07? and yeah just make sure you got the right sidesw because the right side is a different length than the left. im sure you already know this and didnt make that mistake but better safe then sorry.

Just saw this, I swapped with Scott (RangerExtreme) when he demodded his truck this past winter. I wanted 4.10s so we swapped the diffs. So I got 4.10 and a rear L/S for my open 3.73s for nothing. And about the different lengths well, its kinda tough to mess that up the passenger is a female end and the driver side is a male side. The dont work when you swap em.
