Icon5 Any ideas?

Good day all, I know this is my first post but I need a little bit of input. I have an 02 fx4 with an auto tranny. the tranny fluid indicates very low but when I add fluid its immediately spit out the vent pipe. there are no problems with shifting but I'm leery of driving until I get the problem pegged down.
TIA

Do you mean spitting out the dipstick tube? That is where you need to fill it. Do it with the engine running. It could be in park or neutral. You have to add the fluid slowly or it will spill out. Another question are you checking the level properly? You should check it on LEVEL ground with the engine in neutral while it is running. The fluid should not be low unless there is a leak somewhere.

Nope... I mean out the pipe that you'd see on the underside of the tranny on the passenger side. and yes I check it following all the criteria you listed.
