6" of lift - new driveshafts needed?

then yes you should get a 1 piece driveshaft.....get one out of a '98+ Ranger extended cab 4x4 (3.0 or 4.0 it doesn't matter)......it will bolt right in....HOWEVER you will have to remove the carrier bearing cross member.....it is NOT a structural cross member....i talked with several Ford engineers before i removed mine....i have had mine out for almost 2 years without a single problem...

get rid of that 2 piece if you can. carrier bearings are known for causing driveline vibrations in trucks with lifts. they make drops for some trucks, but not sure about a ranger.
