4.10s for 7.5

Can anyone help me find some 4.10s for my 7.5. I looked but cant find any for the 7.5. Should I buy a complete kit or what do I need besides the ring and pinion for a complete install. Thanks!

i would almost recommend just getting an 8.8 with 4.10s already in it. probably around the same price? and a hell-ov-a lot stronger

Is it a direct bolt on? Im somewhat mechanical so it would be great if I could do it myself.

if you get a ranger 8.8 axle with 4.10's it will bolt in.

You could also go with an explorer axle but finding 4.10's is a little more difficult but the explorer 8.8 is stronger yet than the ranger 8.8

You should be fine with a ranger 8.8 28 spline. Find one with 4.10's will prolly be fairly easy. Make sure you get a L/S also. No use upgrading the axle and going to an open diff. Well if you really need the gears I understand getting the open but you can find an 8.8 with 4.10's and L/S

also depends how well you know your stuff if you get an explorer one, the explorer leafs are under the axle, so you have to take those spring perches off and weld new ones on top...

Now you guys have me really interested in swapping in an 8.5. Any certain years I should be looking for in rangers with the 8.5 I need? Im thinking I dont really need a explorer rear end, Im not to crazy offroading yet. One dumb question- Is the 8.5 the same overall length as the 7.5? I dont want my tires out too far. Thanks guys

the 8.8 is the same width as your 7.5

You will need to look for a 4x4 with a 4.0. Most of them will have an 8.8. Most newer 4.0s and 4x4 have 4.10's so looking for a smashed up one in the JY will get you one but look up the axle code you need then it will make it easy at the JY. You will have to just look inside the door.

its the Ford 8.8", just so you dont go running around looking for an 8.5" lol
yes they are the same width as far as i know

and no specific years that i can think of... the newer the better obviously, lower miles most likely, less wear... maybe someone can help me out?

edit: i think we confused the server, it thinks bryan was the last one to post haha

anyways, over all, i dont see a reason to kepe the 7.5. the 8.8 is stronger, and in im opinion swapping an axle is easier than swapping a ring and pinion

try and find an explorer 31 spline with 4.10s... rare but you never know
i want an explorer axle for the disc brakes, but will need at least 4.10s cuz im lifted and gotta be able to run a lil bit, plus i need the stopping power

but yeah a trashed ranger with a good 8.8 rear and 4.10s

check the axle codes sticky and see what kinda ranger your loookin for a swap from

most edge models have the 8.8... i would look for one of those in a junkyard and they can be had on the cheap too... direct bolt on to replace your 7.5
