Changing Rearend Fluid

Is there a gasket you use to seal the cover or is RTV used? Its a 7.5" BTW.

ive seen gaskets used before but most just use RTV, thats all i use.

I use RTV at work. there are gaskets out there. but not everyone has them in stock.

I wont be changing the oil until next weekend maybe so i have time to order something.

Whatcha think of this?

Don't use the gasket, use RTV.

I used the High Temp RTV cause I had it and worked great.

Oil-Resistant RTV and you're good to go. Lube Locker gaskets work well too.

I just use RTV. I clean any debris from the cover and the diff so the oil don't find any leaks went putting it all back together.
