AOD trans??

Any one heard of it? My buddy needs one for his 67 mustang... They supposedly were in the light trucks and big boat cars.. He needs to know what veh it was found in so we can hit the JY... It is supposed to be all mechanical not electronic like the newer AODE trans.. Thanks

Gracious... Right now it has a 3 speed. He wants to get the 4 speed w/ OD

Now that i think of it. cars like mine came with AOD transmissions. 4 speed and overdrive.

There were two of them he said.. AOD - all mechanical and AODE - electronic.. He want the original. I told him they were prob in the vics and such since he said they put them in the big cars and light trucks...

AOD started in 1980 behind most 302 powered rides. i assume hes using this for a SBF so look for an AOD that was used in a 302. early versions werent the best and the latters were somewhat better. Not a super stout trans but ok for a light car. 87-93 stangs used them, 87/8-1993 f150s used them with 302s. after 1993 they went to the AODE/4R70W. hell just AIM me and i can explain it easier.

No proble, Good Deal, yes it sucks. But i cant do anything about it. All is well.
