He wants to make sure that lil clip and spring are positioned/sitting properly.

Couldn't tell you though, sorry.

Edit: I'd get new gaskets and seal em with heavy duty RTV silicone.

Remove both original gaskets and discard them. Then clean the mating surfaces and install new gaskets.

The factory shop manual doesn't say anything about using sealant. If you do decide to use something like silicone seal, do it very sparingly - the last thing you need is a glob of silicone floating around inside an automatic.

Be sure to get the parking pawl, spring and shaft back into position before tightening the extension housing down to the transmission. It looks like the parking pawl is upside down in your picture.

Extension housing to transmission bolts: 33 lb-ft
Extension housing to transfer case bolts: 40 lb-ft

Use new gaskets.

The parking pawl lever is upside down. Flip it so the more squared off side faces inward and the pointed side faces out.

That little piece of metal is what holds your truck from rolling.

I know the gasket from the tcase to extension housing is 9 bux at the dealer.
