4x4 stoped working
my 4x4 stoped working about a week ago. at first it would come on and i would hear the relay click, then i would shut it off and it would not go back on. i would drive around a little and try again and it would come on.. now it wont come on at all.. no light on the dash, and 4hi and 4lo dont work. i was thinking it was a fuse but if it was a fuse then it would of stopped working the first time and wouldent of been intermittent. im hoping its the switch but what do you guys think?

whippersnapper and myself along with grabherII and redrocket went all through this issue.
when you fire the truck up the test lights should come on and display 4x4 and 4x4 low. if those lights burn then your 4x4 computer is good. next step would be to test the switch on the dash as well as all the fuses for the system. if that doesnt fix the issue, do like grabherII said and smack the motor on the back of the transfer case with a ball-peen hammer with the truck in neutral and the 4x4 switch on. this will free up the brushes in the motor and allow it to move again.
those motors are bad about dirt building up inside them and seizing the brushes. same thing happened to me and this solution fixed it.
