FM146 to M5OD R1 with manual 1350 transfer case.
Will it work?
89 Ford Ranger XLT 2.9 4x4
FM146 in it is grinding 4th gear and instead of rebuilding it everyone suggests finding an M5OD and putting it in. I have a manual 1350 transfer case, will I be able to bolt that up to a M5OD and use it without trading out shafts and such? Also, I'm going to search a local u pull it for the transmission, so should I be looking for a 4.0 B2 or 4.0 Ranger for this? What years should I look at for those?
