don't know which seal this is that is causing this? i know its a seal but whats the name of it?

do i have to open up the differential to get to it or can i just remove the drive shaft to get to it?

 

Driveshaft pinion nut and pinion yoke. That's it.

 

remove shaft, use 34 or 32 mm impact socket to remove nut, slide yoke out, remove old seal, install new seal, install yoke and driveshaft. top off diff fluid. 45 mins worth of work man.

i've done it twice.

Pinion Seal. A screw driver and a hammer or a chisel and a hammer work best to get it out. The correct procedure involves installing a new crush sleeve and re-torquing to the correct turning torque, but you can do it the way everyone else said and it should be fine.

 

i have the "Chiltons" method of removing/installing the seal. I can either e-mail you or post it on here.
