front axles
#2
Some 2000 model trucks were live axles, meaning that the front axle is always turning. Take the center cap off the wheel and if there's a large nut there it's a live axle. If the truck is not a live axle and it's a PVH system I'd leave it alone. The PVH system is notoriously unreliable and usually ends up not working when you need it too.

No it means just the front axle is turning, the transfer case is not locked in and sending power up front until you put it in 4wd. As RazorsEDGE said, if it is a live axle leave it be.
