4.10 gears
Im looking to take my 2004 ranger 3.0l from stock gear ratio to 4.10. I go to school about 380 miles from home but i make the trip only every 2-3 months or so, other than that its mostly city driving. ive heard that the gears will make my rpms higher on the highway, but how bad, and should i be okay with the highway situation considering my time on the highway. Just fyi: tire size : 255/70/r16 and i have a tuner that will adjust the speedo to compensate for gear change

If you do not have a tuner, your truck will not do 126,
^^ damn if thats all i need to do rear axles ive been doing them wrong all along!
on a serious note, you will be happy with 4.10's 3000 RPM seems excessive on the highway for 5th gear. I run 2400 at 70 with 4.10's and 33's

Trucks aren't made to go fast, the 4.10's are plenty good for what you'll ever need. the faster you go, the more stuff that breaks, i've got plenty of firsthand experience there. i tried to make a stock 93 4.0 go fast once, and then a few rod's decided to evict themselves from their holdings.
