front spindle availability solved
Wow.
Some time last week, after over a week of searching, I posted a question about the availability of front spindles for my 96 2.3 4x4.
From the responses, I guess nobody else knows where to get them. It's amazing. I can't get a spindle for a truck that was produced in countless quantity. (Rangers hit the 7 million mark this year!)
Yet, at the same time, with nothing short of amazement, I can call up Victoria British and, for a few hundred $, I can get a brand-new front spindle for my Austin-Healey MK IV Sprite, of which only 22,000 were made. There is something very wrong with that picture.
If anyone is interested, I welded the effected area, and had it re-machined to specs. It was about $100,and a two-day wait. If I knew it was an impossible-to-find part, I would have just done that in the first place instead of looking for one for so long.
