Gears

I am going to be running 35's and I was thinking about getting 4.88 gears right now I have 4.10's and I was wondering will the 4.88's bring me back to stock or a little more/less power then stock?

Thanks

more power and more rpms

several guys including myself run 4.56s with 35s.

when i went to get mine i wanted 4.88s but the one person i talked to had 4.88s and he said it was way too much gear for 35s

i have 4.56's on my Ranger with 35's......and it is PLENTY of gear for the tire size......Scott D. (big04ranger) had 4.88's with 37's and had plenty of power....that should give you an example......

4.56 will be fine like these guys said. But 4.88's are not out of the question. It depends do you want that extra power. If you want to get back to about stock go with the 4.56.

I have 4.88s with 35s. 3.0 manual regular cab. It had 4.10s stock and it has less power with the 4.88s than it did stock. Looking back on it I wish I would've done 5.13. I think you will be disappointed if you go with 4.56s, unless you have the 4.0 v6.....

it all comes down to how you drive, i put my foot into it most of the time, and i enjoyed beating ricers off the line

but if you dont really care about acceleration and want better gas milage i would say 4.56, if thats not a factor then 4.88s or 5.13

Yes I agree. I thought you had a 4.0

If you have the 3.0 then you need 4.88's

any thing other than the 4.0L really needs the 4.88 just because the 4.0L has the torque to make up for such larger tires.
