New brakes, pads, bearings.......(Fixed Pics)

I changed my rotors, bearings, and pads two weeks ago and snapped a few pics along the way. Looking back I should have maybe done a "step-by-step" approach for those that are interested in doing your own brake job.

Side by side comparison (rear) Bearings packed in the new rotor.

Old rotor - Look at the groove the pad left...nasty

Cleaned the spindle, checked for any wear, re-greased spindle.

Packed the inner and outer bearings and installed. Set rear set in place.

New rotor on. All bearings packed and reinstalled. Pads in and caliper reinstalled (right side of vehicle)

Nothing like being able to stop on a dime. The rears were replaced in June, everything back there from the drums, pads and adjuster kit are all new. I felt that it was time for the fronts to follow suit seeing that winter is around the corner, and we all like to be able to STOP. The rear pads on both calipers were completely worn down to the metal. The passenger side was pretty scary looking for pads.......very little material on them.

In the spring (as always) I'll give the truck a good under belly wash and a new coat of flat black paint on the frame rails and all visible components. I think I'll even shoot the calipers with some flat black as well. I know there are some of you just in total shock out there........I've seen a few 01's that still look show room clean under there. Hit some mud sometimes people!! LOL
