Removing Front Axel

anyone got a how-to or a picture tutorial on how to remove this?

from what? not a Ranger that's for sure.

yes i ment the front differential i just called it a axel for the sake of arguement.. this is on my 2001 ranger 4x4 i need to remove it so i can take a look in the differential and find out why i have metal shavings in my fluid

cant remember 100 percent what pertains to the rangers, but most ifs are pretty simple. remove wheel, spindle nut in the hub, upper balljoint, bolts on the end of the cv shafts. drop that end of the shaft, and pull the splined in out of the hub. loosen the bolts on the diff mounts, leaving one holding it in. removing it from the truck may be a lil task. sometimes you have to work it up and down, and get it in the right spot to drop it.
