HAS anybody ever greased their shaft PT 2

Hey guys,

while back I posted about a vibration. Most suggested I do u-j's first. Did that. In fact, took the drive shaft out, drove it, no vibration w/ no rear drive shaft. btw, how long could you drive it like that w/o hurting anything. Put the rear d-s back in w/ new u-j's. Vib still there, actually feels worse. Looks like I'll be getting a new one. Did't grease the slip shaft cause I didn't know how to get the straps off the boot or replace them. anybody know someone in north ala, birmingham or huntsville area? I don't offroad it per say, just muddy roads in the public hunting areas. I drive fast, but not too hard on it. could it be out of balance??? It doesn't look like I've lost any weights...

Look at the driveshaft and make sure that the u-joints are all in line (front joints with the rear joints). If they're not, it will be pretty plain to see and would cause a vibration. I got mine misaligned by one spline tooth when I had it apart recently and had to fix it.

LOL! That's what I did (marking the shaft), and why it took so long for me to figure out where the vibs were coming from. I knew it was lined up right. But when I finally pulled my head out of my a** and crawled under to actually LOOK, it was plain to see that it was mis-aligned. Shame on me...
