HELP!!!! 4wd not working

I took the kids fishing today at a farm pond and tried to put it in 4wd and it would not do anything.

I have a 2001 4.0 XLT with electronic shift 4wd.

Also does anyone know which fuse goes to the 4wd controls.

I was checking the fuses and found a 15a fuse blown. It was in the fuse box under the hood in slot #30 from the best I could tell. I changed it out but 4wd still does not work. I have a Haynes manual but it does not help much.

Usually it's the 4wd shift motor that's to blame, does the 4HI and 4LO dash lights blink?

Here's a link for the fuses, click on roadside emergencies and it will show you the fuses and functions.

its normally one or more of these three things, Hubs, vac line leak, or the shift motor on the transfer case.

An '01 doesn't have the vacuum hubs so the issue is electrical somewhere. Most likely culprit is the t-case shift motor which can be disassembled and cleaned.
