Holy Crap! Ouch!

So, the guy that was installing the gears in my truck brought it back today.. my dad had taken the front axle out and taken it to him like that.. So, it was around 250 bucks TOPS.. well for the rear, my dad figured it would be easier just to take the whole truck down to him and let him do it..

Yeah, that was a costly decision. 500 bucks!!!! I guess he had to replace the sway bar tie rods or someting like that and the wheel cylinder? somethin to do with the brakes..

But, on the happier side, the truck is finally done! (drivetrain wise). so other than the break-in period for the gears, my truck is good to go.

I just felt like venting a little, i was pretty shocked when dad told me what the bill was. But i guess its worth it lol..

I will be putting more updated pics up soon..

Yeah. Usually any type of Diff work is expensive as a mo facker. Think a local shop here quoted be roughly $1800 to do both differentials, parts and labor.

I know the parts were around $800 for what I wanted, so $1000 bucks labor.

But glad to hear the truck is done.

Yeah, its just he originally quoted me 150/axle.. end up around 250 for the front and 500 for the rear lol.. owell..

my dad was telling me that when he was drivin it down to the shop ( with the stock 3.73's and 35"BFG MT's) it was super responsive. he even went as far as to say that if it were him he wouldnt have re-geared. So im really interested to see how it feels with the new gears!

56. So if the 3.73 could pull the 35's with no problem i cant wait to see what the 56's do!

my buddy has the 4.0 ohv and 35's w/ 3.73 and now has manual...was an auto til it blew up due to the gearing + 35 issue. it drives great for being 73 and 35's...but nothing is like being properly geared! i can't wait til i got mine in and he'll have my old axles(4.10)!
