rear axle

I just noticed today that my rear axle is kind of tweaked. One side is farther forward than the other is this because my U bolts are loose? Thats what I was told from a guy at 4wheelparts. He said it wasnt bent.

take it and get a 4wheel alignment, they should straighten the axle on a 4wheel alignment instead of just a front end

There are no adjustments for rear wheel alignment on a Ranger. If it is out of spec and none of the axle or suspension components are damaged, the only recourse is a trip to the frame machine.

As far as the axle being out of place, check to see if the pin on the lift block has been sheared off. That can happen if the U-bolts were improperly tightened, allowing axle to move from the correct position. Another possibility is a kinked leaf spring but that should be very obvious.
