Does anyone out there use syncromesh? If you do did you like it? and how did it work for ya?

Some people have used it and they said that shifting becomes smoother. I used to use it and didn't notice a difference but at the time the truck was fairly new.

 

i run it and it looks to be helping a good deal it was 15 a qt. when i paid for it

 

i use pennzoil syncromesh fluid in my trans, it does do better than the atf, and ive tried varoius types of atf's. ive toyed with useing it in my T-case, but being a electric shift i dont know if thats wise or not. its about 8 bucks a qt at autozone. besides shiftng better ive noticed the tans doent run as warm, before where my hurst lever goes through the boot it would be quite warm, almost hot after 20 miles. now its warm, just not nearly as much. the pennzoil sycromesh fluid is not synthetic, i think the royal purple stuff is.

He said the Penzoil Sychromesh fluid isn't. The Royal Purple is, and so is the AmsOil.

I run the Royal Purple stuff, and didn't notice much of a difference in the way it shifted, but after 60K miles with it, it's still purple and the trans doesn't get hot! Next time I change it, I've been thinking about the AmsOil stuff. See if it makes any difference.

BTW: Synchromesh is just the type of transmisson, i.e. fully synchronized. It's kinda like saying Positrac instead of limited slip.
