What is this?

When I was changing my brakes my friend asked me what it was for. I stared at it for a while and concluded that it might be a stopper for the sway bar.

Let me know what it is or if I'm way off

Must have skipped that page. I might just cut it off, the floor jacks I have are a lot better than the crappy bottle jack

You should keep them, they're good spots for jackstands

I usually put jackstands under the "middle crossmember thing"

I usually use a floorjack underneath the crossmember, and 2 jack stands with one under each of those factory jack points. Much safer.
