im confused

ok so i searched my axle code (97) and i looked at my axle tag and it reads 4 10 88 3L01.

so is that an open 8.8 with 4.10s or is it l/s 3.01's

i know its a dumb question but i couldnt figure it out

here the axle tag.

mine is 3L 55 88 3E11 what does this mean

3.55 ratio limited slip with 8.8" ring gear.

Ford Ranger's come with 2 different sized axles. Either 7.5" or 8.8". Basically its just the size of the Ring Gear on the Differential in your rear axle.
