Brake info

Changed the pads this past weekend. Went to take off the caliper on the passenger side and wasnt paying attention when I went to take the top caliper bolt off. Needless to say I stripped the threads inside that part attached to the caliper bracket. Ordered a new mounting kit but have no idea how to remove or install this piece. Anyone have any experience with this ?

Try to take the whole bracket off the spindle and then drill out the pin. It is hard to see what you are describing in my head.

What part is stripped? The part you are referring to as the receiver? Can you not get the bolt out? Can you tap it to the next larger size bolt or put a heli-coil in it?

I stripped the threads out of the one that's still on the truck. That is the new one in the pic. I talked to my buddy that works at the dealership and he said it just pops into the caliper bracket. There's a rubber piece that goes in the middle of the receiver pin that keeps it in place in the bracket. I'm gonna take some pics when I do the install in case anyone else has the same problem.
