Ive already ruined my 3:73s, so theyre not even in the running anymore. Its just a parts rear end. Im more concerned with my 4:10 right now. It tends to want to lock up on acceleration on turns. My main question is this: Whats the cheapest, strongest way to fix this rear end? Ive considered simply replacing it with another junk yard unit, rebuilding this one, putting a locker in, or putting a spool in. I understand that a spool isnt very street friendly, but i wont rule it out. What would you guys do?

Which rear end do you have 8.8 or 7.5? If it was a 7.5 i suggest get an 8.8. If it was an 8.8 i suggest you find out what happend to it. If it is a simple problem fix it, if it will cost too much to fix get a 31 spline 8.8 from an explorer and swap it in. You will have to flip the spring perches if you use the explorer rear.
Good luck.

Well On Occasions I Go Out And Play In Some Pretty Deep Mud And I Have Also Drag Raced The Truck At The Strip. So Thats Why I Thought I Might Get A 9 Inch Cause It Is More Heavy Duty. And For What I Do It Would Probaly Be Worth It.

What I Think I Might Do Just For The Time Being Is Get In There And Weld Up The Side Spider Gears Just For A Little Bit Until I Can Get The Money To Fix It Right. Now If I Weld That Up Em I Going To Have Problems Later Trying To Get It Out When I Am Ready To Fix It.
