98 Ranger 2wd to SAS

Now I know this question has probably been asked a million times but i cant seem to find it on the forum. So heres the situation.

Im currently building a 302 to replace the 3.0l when it dies. Now when i put the 302 in, i can leave it 2wd and drive fast, burnout and sound good... thats it. But i rather be muddin throwing rooster tails 20ft in the air. I have a 2wd 98 Ranger with the coil spring suspension and ive been thinking of swapping it over but theres just one issue i cant figure out....

My plans are to swap in the axle under leaf springs up front like the rear, im not a fan of coilovers. So i would have to tear down the entire front suspension, weld brackets for the leaf springs, bolt up the axle.... but........ What do i do for steering. Right now i have a rack. Do i just drop the rack to the axle or do i put in a steering box? This has probably been done a few times so if anybody has any experience in this please help!

I know what i need to know about the axles, gears and ratios so please just help me figure out what i need to do for steering. Any help Would be greatly appreciated.

You need a steering box. Just go to the SAS section and read a lot of the threads there. There have been 2 or 3 of these same threads in the past week.
