Front driveshaft bolt question?

So I broke the torx bit in one of my driveshaft bolts a year ago. Well the damn thing is still there and being a real pain.

My question is what thread count bolt do I need to replace them? I want to replace them with something I can use an allan wrench on so I don't have to use these fragile torx bits.

Thanks.

hmmm. i wonder if the bits you had were just cheap. i've put a lot of torque onto those before getting them off when they were all rusted up. ( i did use an acetylene torch). i've never had one break. the best bet is to take it to the hardware store. they can help you match some up.

How about the bolt for the tcase side of the driveshaft?

I'm having a hard time finding these bolts. Went to all the autopart stores. I'm gonna try Lowes tommorrow. Anybody know a good place to find these driveshaft bolts, strap bolts and tcase side bolts?

You can get the straps & bolts in a kit from any auto parts store for the diff end, should be under $10 for the set.

I just used regular hex head metric bolts for the t-case end and its working fine!
