M/T tranny fluid

So I have a 1989 2.9 5speed 4x4 .. I have it on my lift weighting for me to change fluids .. I want to do motor oil tranny and transfer case and rear diff ..

So question 1 ... Whats the recomended gear oil for the tranny/transfer and rear diff ..
2.. What is the best way to go about flushing the tranny/trans.. when i took the drain bolt out of the side of the tranny there was LOTS of metal shavings on the magnet..
3. whats the Ez'est way to refill the tranny ..

thanks in advance Jim

Should be just regular Dexron/Mercon ATF.

I don't think there's much more you can do than to just drain and refill. My '97 had a ton of shavings when I drained it right after I bought the truck. Refilled it with ATF plus a bottle of Lucas trans additive and never had an issue in the five years I drove it.

I found the best way to refill is to use a suction gun. It takes a while but it's a lot less messy!
