More Info On My Transmission Problems...
As many people know, I have been plagued with transmission problems since early 2003. My first transmission went out at 7000 miles, then was rebuilt, went out 5 hours after i picked it up, was rebuilt, went out at 12000 miles(or soemthing like that), was replaced...Went out again, and was rebuilt.
Well, like a month or so ago, it went out again. Not under warranty.
So, I take it into a shop. 2.5 weeks have no gone by.
They totally rebuilt it and told me it was good to go. 12 month/12,000 mile warranty or an optional 24 month/24,000 mile warranty.
It blew up on them, in the shop.
So, there goes soem of their profit. Lost.
They rebuild again.
Crack.
Something else breaks.
They start to rebuild again. Transmission is cracked down the side or soemthing. They can't figure out where.
So, they call me up.
Now, I am getting a brand spanking new transmission.
It isn't costing me anymore, but it will be another week.
I hate 3.0 automatic transmissions.
They are the devil...
But at least I get a brand new one, now.
Only costing me 4.5 weeks of my crappy wal-mart vision center paycheck.

Unfortunately our friend Chrisitan here just happened to get a trans w/ a problem. I don't think that shows that all Ranger autos are bad and will fail like this.
Now once the auto has problems, it's pretty obvious that it's going to be a hefty repair bill and a lot of part swapping to get it fixed.

My auto has almost 27k on it and no problems at all. I think one of christians biggest problems was that fact he was running 32in tires with 3:73 gears on a 3.0. Thats a lot for that little motor to handle. I think if christian went to atleast 4.10's a lot of his problems would be helped(or fixed maybe)

Considering the fact that packages w/ auto transes are easily the most popular configs for Rangers, that's saying something.

I suppose the Mazda 3.0s have this tranny as well? Well I have 42thousand miles and it is beginning to shift harder is this a bad thing?
