Need a idea on why my transmission does this?

Okay any other time when not wot it shift perfect but if I gun it and keep it wot after I pass 60mph it almost stalls there for a couple seconds then shifts or I have slightly let of the throttle is that a shift point problem or torque converter thing. Let me know. (99 ford ranger 4.0l 4x4 trans rebuilt 20-30k miles ago and nearly fresh trans fluid change not full flush and some Lubeguard) thanks.

sounds like the torque converter lockup servo is NOT disengaging when is should

sounds like PCM software issue

i would try the dealership 1st

a diagnostic would tell you what the problem is , probably just a failed lockup servo

Wouldn't that come up on a check engine test?

not sure about the older rangers , but the newer ones would probably store a code

my mazda b4000 tranny was acting a bit odd , when i had it in for service, they ran a diagnostic and sure

enough , it was showing a code for a failed lockup servo , i was having the tranny fluid lushed and filled at that time anyway.

so they just went in and replaced the servo without question

This trans is rebuilt like 20-30k miles ago and I just want to have this thing shifting correctly. It just irritates me thati get to 60 and just feels like I'm stuck there for a second or so throwing rpms and gas in bc it won't shift over fast enough.

the 4r55e and the 5r55e are computer controlled transmissions

the dealership mechanic can adjust the shift and lockup rpm`s in the PCM software itself

yes , the software would revert to factory setup mode

the newer rangers have more advanced software that would revert to re-learn mode

That's why I just suggested getting a tuner chip that allows you to change gear ratios
