Shift kits for 2000 4.0

I'm just wondering if there are any shift kits available for the 5R55E transmision( i think thats the trans i have, the code on the vin sticker is"D"). I'm just looking for firmer shifts than stock and maybe a little better mileage due to less slip in the trans. Also when i manualy shift down to first it dose not engine brake it just goes to where it would normaly idle unless i hit the gas then it will accelerate, is this normal.

A tuner (X3) will do the same, plus add some HP and torque to the motor.

not saying anything bad about a tuner, but the tuner in a 5r55 can only really alter EPC and shift strategy, where the kit that i installed changes the springs and check *****, so the line pressure isnt just increased for all gears, but specifically during kick down and 1-2 shifts. and at this time you install a new main control separator plate that is updated. this kit and a tuner would work very well together

talk to your tuner person. I've always heard to do one or the other, but never do both. They should be able to take the tranny tunes out if you go with a shift kit.

it's a jet programmer (I wasn't a member here and had no idea about the SCT tunner when i bought the jet, the SCT sounds way better) but i can return the trans tune to stock without changing the engine tune.

Ya I was kind of thinking man that might be some ridiculously firm shifting, but I could be wrong.
