transmision problems need help!!
im new to the forum.. i have a 93 ford ranger 4.0L 4x4 a/t.... the problem started with the tranny not kicking into gear... i would put it on drive an it wouldnt move until a little while... i decided to change the tranny... (from salvage) an installed it .. put it in gear an nothing happend..i diconected the tranny oil line to see if it was pumping an nothing .. i thought it was a bad tranny ... so i took it out .. got another one.. an the same exact thing is happening... anyone know what can be wrong? the tranny is currently out..again ... ??!!

Are you using the same torque converter or a different one.
Some of these are thermostatic oil flows to the external lines -- or so my manual says for the thing somewhere. I don't think mine is though.
What are your reusing overall from the old transmission? Modulator, or whatever.
Is the selector lever actually moving when you move the shift lever?

in the first tranny i used the converter that came with the tranny... the second time i used the original converter..since the truck would run with it.. i didnt change anything but the filter on the tranny..the way i got it i put it in..and yes the the selector does move..

No idea, Jose. If the vacuum line is hooked up and the selector is moving we're running out of options.
Are any of the other trannies maybe missing the small input shaft? There are two concentric splined shafts coming out of the bellhousing when the torque converter is out. A large one which doesn't move, and a small one which does. Is the small one there? If not, then the torque converter isn't passing any power to the oil pump and tranny innards.
