wondering which fluid i need.

i have a 99 ranger with the 3.0 and a 5 speed manual behind it. i picked up some dex-merc atf, will this work? or do i need something different. i know i cant use gear oil cuz of the splash bearings, but do i need a different one?

ok cool. this stuff said it covers mercon so we'll see in the long run. swapped it out last night and took it for a ride. noticed a big difference. quieter, and a lot less hesitation.
