Brake pedal goes to floor

98 ranger with RW ABS. went to go leave after a week of not driving since I got a newer car to save gas but i still wanna drive teh truck to keep it all loose and stuff. but got in it press the cluch then brake and it went to the floor. first thought was ****. drove it carefully around the block petal still went to the floor ****. There was no signs or problems leading up to this. would sitting out side in snowy cold conditions cause this? would it be a broken line or master cyclendar? where to start the troubleshooting and what to do? help please

sounds like either a wheel cylinder blew out, line leak or bad master...but sounds like a leak and youre gonna want to replace the master anyway after you fix it

Check over the whole brake system front to back looking for leaks in the steel lines, hoses, cylinders, etc. My Dad's old 2000 Ranger did something similar one day, the rear hose was rubbing on something and wore right through.
