Ranger Trans Probs

My buddy has a 4x4 ranger with the A4LD. This is the second time he has lost 1st, 3rd, and R. Only those 3. Put in a new trans and the same thing happened. He builds track mustangs so hes no newb but he cant figure out whats up. Is this a common problem? Whats he doing wrong?

there a seal i dont know what it called but it looks like a piston with a spring on the bottom of it. It has to build up pressure for it to engage. it like a oring that goes around the piston i replaced mine and it worked great after words it was like 10 bucks for the part ill try to look up the part later and get back to you later. 1st and r ar on the same piston this site might help you http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/...ad.php?t=98027
