Symptoms of a bad clutch master cyl??

What are the signs that you might have a bad clutch master cyl?? Are they similar to those of a bad slave?? I'm on slave #4 right now.....so that's pretty much a slave a year. lol.

I've never had a hydraulic clutch in any of my other rigs....all were linkage or cable. So i have no clue what the sumptoms are.

Reason I ask.....is that my dang clutch pedal has a mind of its own sometimes. lol. Lots of times, it's nice and firm...sometimes after driving it somewhat hard, I get about 2" of nothingness at the top of the pedal....then it would go away after not driving it. Yea...I know....I do need to bleed it again before i start buying new parts.

Thanks for any info.

I would. Just remember to bench bleed the master before you install it.

yeah. Make sure to turn it upside down. Thats where all the air gets trapped. I bleed the thing when it was in the truck for about three days with no luck. Took it out in about 5 minutes (after figuring out how to get it out) and then bleed it and one second and put it back in and it worked fine.
