Gears & Lockers
Ok. Well, after this weekend of the truck's 4WD going out and the me having 1 drive wheel on the trail (damn snowy, icy stuff), I've decided it's time to start looking into new gears all around and a locker for at least the rear end.
Right now, I'm thinking about going with 4.10 gears from Superior, as I've never really seen anything bad about them. 4.10 simply because that's what I've read is good to go with for 33's. If you guys have opinions on gear makers or sizes, feel free to share.
However, the locker, I'm a little bit more stumped on. Right now, my 3 options are as follows (I think):
ARB Air locker: From what I've read, absolutely sweet, however, very expensive (which means more then likely a no-go).
Eaton E-Locker: Sounds like it would fit my needs very well, however, haven't really seen much on it's durability or pricing.
Something like a PowerTrax locker. Plain ol' engaged all the time, works great, dependable, but engaged all the time. Haha.... might not be a horrible thing, but I'm just weighing my options at this point in time.
Well, anyway, if you guys have lockers, let me know what you have and if you like it. I'm hoping to get this stuff ordered within the month and then start looking into somewhere that can install it.
And yes, I did a little bit of searching through old threads, but wanted to open a new one anyway as I didn't see much comparing lockers. Sorry, if I missed or you feel this is just a recreation for the 10 thousandth time.
EDIT: As a side note, does anyone know what diff I would have up front? I was under the impression it was a Dana 35, but I'm not sure now.

4.10's will be fine for 33's........if you have the manual tranny they will even be fine for 35's.....
on the locker, if money is no option, i would get the ARB air-locker......BUT i personally would prefer the E-Locker......with the E-locker, you dont have to worry about mounting an air compressor and air tank........
Do you do most of your driving on the street? if you do you might consider the Torson diff.....i found one when i was searching for me a L/S for a 28 spline axle....it was i belive $475 (about the same price as an E-Locker).....
that is my opinion....

a Torsen diff is what comes in the Level II's......they are a gear type L/S unit instead of the clutch L/S like is in any other Ranger w/ L/S.......a Torsen diff is extremely strong.....

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
then toss a Tru-Trac up front?
i have 4.10's i would really like 4.56, i miss the acceleration i had stock, was able to take out civics :) that made me happy haha
anyways, it all depends on your driving habits, if u dont have a heavy foot, dont have many hills, then 4.10s would probably be good, i would be willing to sell mine, i just need the 4.56's first and i have a lawyer right now that every dime of mine goes to...

for the front it standard cut dana 35.. as for the rear locker, unless your dead set on a selectable. go buy a powertrax no-slip. i ran one for 2 years and loved it. invisible on the road unless you put your foot on the floor. now since i have an exploder diff im dead set on a selectable since i know ill be keepin this axle.
