Sorry but I have no reason to lie. After I changed the air intake and went with my true dual setup I never got below 20mpgs. That was the only reason I didn't change my 33's to 35's was so my mpg wouldn't go down. Also might be the fact that I never hawsed it. Still wished I had kept it and dropped a V8 in it.

how are you calculating your mileage? Are you calculating for the bigger tire size?

Honestly I don't remember...that's been over 5 years ago. I remember asking around if there was a difference between stock tires and bigger tires and someone told me how to do it but i've forgotten since. I wished my new truck would get above 20mpgs but hasn't happened since i got it.

thats to everyone saying there isn't a difference when puttin 33's on a stock truck with a 3.0 auto with 3.73 gears and there isn't a big difference.

haha you say theirs no differnce till youve actualy done the regear... dont say theirs no differnce until youve put your hard earned money into the regear i ahve a 3.0l auto with 33's and ran stock 3.73's for over a month and it ran like a pure turd... gas blowed... and i went to a 8.8 and regeared to 4.56's and it was a amazing differnce so i call x2 bs on all who havent regeared and are saying theirs no differnce...

I have 4.88s in the 'sploded 8.8 axle, and I have 5.13 R&P for the 9" laying in the garage.. but the 2, 3rd members i have for the new 9" are 3 and 3.50 so i put the lesser of the 2 evils in until I get the money for an install kit and pay to get it installed.

as for the argument.. I had 4.10s stock, then went to 33's and left the 4.10s, they were a dog, then went to 35s, more of a dog, then had the 4.88s put in, and i really didn't notice a difference except for the higher RPMs on the highway and in low range.

my 4.0 auto with 4.10 feels really sluggish now that i have 33's and i get 13-14mpg when i was getting 18-19 stock. 32's i ran around 15-17mpg. my rpms and driving style haven't changed so once i finish wearing the 33's out i'm going back to 32's you'll notice a difference if you go back to some stock 29's or in the case of the edge 31's.

lol you and i have been pretty good at stealing threads. and that looks like fun, I've always hated trying to dig my ranger out of the snow because of how low it was. maybe it will be easier now that its on 33's

i didn't do a lot of the digging, the kid there in the grey sweat shirt did haha.

those pics were in april or may!! I did the full trail in july? yea it was deeper than that and it just got worse as you go up.. NO way i was gonna make it, never mind him haha. I'll miss the snow, but not in Laramie where its ALWAYS windy in the winter. That day out was nice, stuck in 3' of snow and i was in a t-shirt wishing i had shorts on.

and this thread was dead, points were proven, peoples egos hurt, who cares.

never did i say that it ran the exact same as stock...i was simply stating that the power loss is not sufficient enough to drop the money on new gears....p.s. i still get at least 17 mpg city...

i am running 33's with 3.73s and getting 200 to a tank (without recalibrating the speedo) and i only got 220 on stock, so i think i like the way my truck looks for only a 20 mile loss wihich is what 5 bucks on fuel per full up?
