Shift issues with manual transmission
Hey guys,
I've looked and looked on the forums for something that would help and I've found some stuff but now I'm at a wall. From what I was reading it was my slave cylinder that was going out. I replaced it, the clutch, throw out bearing, pilot bearing, and replaced the fluid in the tranny. It seemed to work ok didn't really have the time to feel for things. I replaced the clutch in Jan and now I'm to the point I want to drive it off a cliff. The shifter does not want to go into gear. When I'm at low rpms and shifting slowly, it slides right into gear. But when I am above 2000 rpms, no matter whether I shift fast or slow, it won't go in. I have to try and put it in at least two or three times before it actually goes into gear. What's odd is that it happens more often in second and fourth gear. I know that there seems to be this inherent problem with the slave cylinders so I think that I should have it bled by a professional. If I could get any help I would appreciate it. Oh if it helps i have a 2003 Ranger Edge extended cab 2wd with the 3.0 v6 I'm pretty sure I have the M5R1 transmission. Also the parts are from Autozone.
