Bad link?

The kit runs about 45 bucks, and does not include upper and lower separator plate gaskets. You should also get a new low/reverse servo gasket. If your going to drop the VB buy a new EPC, they are prone to wear out and when the fail your truck doesn't move. Plan on using 8 quarts of fresh mercon V when you fill it up. First add 4, start the truck. Then add until the dip stick says full, checking it as you fill.

This is by far the messiest job I have done. I have never needed to shampoo my hair with simple green before doing this. I suggest using a creeper if you have one. Even then you will end up with atf in your armpits.

With that said I have this kit. Did stage 1 in my first trans. This shift kit is by far the best bang for the buck upgrade minus the higher stall converter.

I wouldn't say this shift kit is for beginners or anyone without a lot of mechanical knowledge. Yes it's cheap....but the labor is intense and can be quite intimidating once you get the transmission drained and start poking around by the valve body.

As far as the product goes...it's great. My truck shifts wonderfully but is slightly harsh when upshifting when letting off the gas.

im not worried about labor, im no mechanical bafoon.... plus i have a full shop to work in and and a couple master mechanics at my desposil, well conviniance.

did the kit clean up your shifts and some of the "slop" in the trans?

What slop? Haha. I went a couple different places...first I had my stock trans. Slid into gear and overall just sucked. Then went to a reman. It was pretty alright...for a while. I then had my stock one rebuilt and added the shift kit. So pretty much new everything inside plus the shift kit...it's amazing how quick and precise it shifts (for a Ranger).
