shifting help

last night when i pulled into the parking lot at work i was in 2nd gear going about 15 going around a curve. when i went to make the turn i let off the gas and didn't touch the clutch at all like i always do. well as i went to accelerate the engine revved up and the shifter jumped to neutral. now i can't go to any gear at all. like something is blocking the gears. this is the tricky part to me. my shifter is in neutral but when you let off the clutch is in second gear but won't go in any gear including reverse. i was told that it jumped syncs. any one have any input? thanks guys

thats very odd. i'd suspect syncros and/or shift rails. when i put a new trans in my truck from an 06 ranger, it was stuck in 2nd gear. no clue why...i could not get it out. So....i pulled the top cover off put all the syncros in neutral and put the shift rail cover back on while making sure the rails forks were sliding onto the syncros. bolted it back on, and it works flawlessly.

might wanna start there.

i think you can gain acess to the cover by pulling the carpet back and removing the inspection cover on the floor on the trans hump. i think the shift rail cover will come out of there so long the inspection cover is big enough. i honestly can't remember if there's enough of a hole in the floor after that cover is removed.
