Transmission Leak

So i just noticed that my transmission is leaking.

I have a 1998 Ranger with the V6 and 5 spd manual trans 4x4

Its leaking out of the driver side where its a rubber piece that looks like a rectangle the size of a dollar bill folded in half. What does that go to? Its leaking out the bottom of it and draning down to drip off of the bottom point of the tranny. It drips about 10 drips a day.

maybe the rear main seal out of the engine, or the front seal of the trans.

Do I have to drop the tranny? Is the rear main seal a 1piece or 2 piece? Meaning I can take off the oil pan to change it. Also what is that rubbert thing for? I took it off and I can look up in my transmission and see some gears. But it was soaked with fluid and I am wondering where the fluid is coming from.

yeah to replace the rear main seal you would have to drop the tranny but as to repairing it idk b/c ive never done it before but i do have a 98 shop manual for the ranger. and the clutch lives in there.
