Clunking Tranny

I have been noticing the last few days that my tranny is doing a hard shift thru 2nd and 3rd on upshift only,but it came after a nice lil inccident in a mud hole where i burried it on a 45 degree angle in mud and ice up to the doors, i was too worried about my baby to take a pic until i got her out after 15min of struggling in 4x4, so i brought it to ford cause theres only 53000km and they said oh its nothing but it feels like its jamming, does anyone else have this problem? or am i jsut trippen about nothin, then again if she blows who cares its on warranty till 120 000km, comment would be awsome, thanks

i wish i knew had to measure metric stuff accurately...lol.

when you went under somethin prolly got into your breather tube so id recomend a flush. may not be under warranty but could save you a hassle.

after i sunk the explorer in water, i did have that bucking problem through the gears. a flush and fill seemed to solve the problem but about a year later the tranny just quit and i had to replace it. definately get a flush and fill done, and take apart all the electrical connections under your truck, clean them wd-40 and put some electrical grease in all of them. the worst thing that happened to the explorer was the connectors got water in them and rusted, ruining the PCM, shift selector, and a good part of the wiring harness itself.

yep...that should be everything. while somebody is under there id recomend getting at least a hose job above your tranny and crossmembers. when you get sunk like that then you run into serious problems with rust. and like bob said, the tranny may just end up quitting after a while especially if you dont take care of it in time.

Ya, well after i buried up to the doors she went right to the car wash, i layed on my back and washed everything that needed washing, about 100lbs of mud came out of the transfer case and tranny supports and after i was finished you couldnt tell that it was even neer the mud, and when i was in today at ford they said everything was outstanding and that they didnt notice anything wrong, but i got a quote on a flush, 129$ and 250$ through ford. shes gettin an oil change this week so ill put it up on the ramps in the shop and start pulling the wiring apart, it will remind me of building my blazer, oh the memories. but thanks guys if anyone else has a suggestion im here to listen.

you could try shrink wrapping or putting that rubber coating thats supposed to be a do it yourself handle of tools thing around those connections so you dont have to worry about shtuff (not a typo, pronounced sh as in "be quiet" and tough with the s carried to the t) getting in there and it can be cut off if access is needed.
