....i mean its not much but im sure you can sell a ford 7.5 axle in working condition for something, it just needs some brakes and some silicone. i was out doing donuts in the desert when i cam across a large pile of trash (refrigerators, couches, entertainment center, carpet.....you get the idea) and in that pile was an axle of some sort, didnt have any id tags on the diff cover so it took me a while to figure out what it actually was (hoping it was an 8.8). oh well! i picked it up anyways im sure i can use it or try to sell it or something. im gonna take thi diff cover off and find what gears are in it, maybe i can use it when i get my 33"s

If it's from a Ranger, you can use the shafts as spares. the 7.5 and 8.8 28 splin euse the same shafts, so not too bad of a find!

you wont get anything for it. not an upgrade for any vehicle. nice to get free stuff, i coulda given you my open diff and 3.45 gears, haha.

although, not a bad axle, i still have mine and abuse the crap out of it, the weak link is the open diff and the spider gears, they dont hold up to the abuse very well. but if i broke mine i wouldnt replace it with another 7.5.

You could always use a spare axle...

well if i was rollin in a ranger with a SAS with d44s (drools) i prolly wouldnt even have stopped, but you see when you dont have the best equipment or cant afford it, you always want to have something to back you up. look at this from my perspective, your out wheelin and you break an axle shaft, crack the diff cover, bend the axle tube itself(ive seen it done, dont laugh), etc....... would you rather say, oh well got another one at the house or da$n now i have to come up with the ca$h to fix this or the cash to upgrade to an 8.8. i dont have extra cash, the little money i do have does go into my truck, just not on big stuff yet. to me this was a good find. to all the people telling me this isnt worth much...i know that, i said that in my first post, i dont have to be reminded. IT WAS FREE!

I bought a freshly rebuilt 31 spline 8.8 with brand new brake parts for 125$....which money WELL spent compared to keeping spare 7.5 rear ends sitting around at your house.

Yeah, but the price was right on the 7.5!

And it's not JUST a 7.5, the shafts are the same for the Ranger 8.8, so ANYONE on here with a non FX4 rear can use them.

once again.....$125<FREE......i think ill keep it layin around till i can afford an 8.8 swap. i never said using spare parts to replace broken ones was going to be my alternitive to upgradeing. just a way to keep my DD driving daily till i can upgrade. rather be safe than sorry.
